The Mansfield Woodhouse Society
We hold a very large historical archive of photographs etc of Mansfield Woodhouse and the surrounding area. This is constantly being added to. We are in the process of building up Woodhouse family records. To add to all the census records we hold. We also carry out the taping and recording of peoples memories of the area. We mount exhibitions and talks about the area.
We record current events and records and encourage as many people as possible to help us with this.
We also carry out in depth recording of the natural life in the area covering both the flora and fauna.
We run organised day trips in the summer to historical houses and parks.
We run a number of conversation areas around Woodhouse, some of which we own or lease. We also assist in the running of other such areas owned by the local authorities.
We are always looking for volunteers to help us in the essential community work. A few hours working in the countryside is a good way of keeping fit in the fresh air!
We seek new members whether knowledgeable or not. Just the enthusiasm will be brilliant.
